About Ocean Heroes

World Sailing Ocean Heroes

World Sailing has taken a strong stand to make sure their sport is doing everything it can to protect the seas on which they sail. As part of their Sustainability Agenda 2030, the organization has committed to eliminating single-use plastics in their own events by 2020, and in all member National events by 2030. World Sailing knows the power of young sailors to make a difference and is working with Ocean Heroes Network to engage and empower youth sailors in this work. We are officially launching this partnership and the World Sailing Ocean Heroes initiative at the Youth World Sailing Championships in Gdynia, Poland in July 2019. Join us!

Ocean Heroes Training

Through in-person intensives and remote online resources, the Ocean Heroes Network provides information and training resources for youth to explore the science and problems behind plastic pollution, and guides their development of campaigns to create meaningful change in their communities. Through our online toolkits and in-person training, the Ocean Heroes Network is empowering youth to take a stand for the oceans and create lasting change in behaviors, businesses, and government policy.

Ocean Heroes Unite!

Around the world, there are young people passionate about protecting the health of our oceans and ready to do something about it. The Ocean Heroes Headquarters connects these young people, providing them with training, resources, support, and a community of fellow Ocean Heroes who are working to save the oceans from plastic pollution.

Ocean Heroes Bootcamp

Each year, OH partners organize a three-day intensive event to empower existing and emerging youth leaders to create their own campaigns to take action against ocean plastic pollution. From understanding micro plastic pollution to learning the ropes of digital media, our partners will empower youth with tools needed to beat plastic pollution, and make a change!
